This form reflects the preset criteria on the previous form.
4 criteria are required to do a download of EPOS data, most of which are preset on the previous form.
| Brand |
BEN is selected as the client, as a manufacturer, which means that the download will include data from all the brands which have BEN listed as the Manufacturer.
| Group |
There is no default group setting.
| Time Period |
404 - 24 Sep 2007 is listed as the Start Week Date and 404 - 24 Sep 2007 is listed as the End Week Date.
| Destination |
Realize.mdb is the default destination, which in this case will be in a local table in Realize.mdb in C:\Program Files\Realize\, in this case tbl_local_epos_extract.
This form is sub-divided to reflect these criteria.
| |
Brand
There are 2 ways you can define the brands you want to download, with a couple of tweaks available on top.
You can select a client, which is the default, who can either be a manufacturer or an interested party. Manufacturer gets all the brands which list the selected client as their manufacturer. Interested Party gets all the brands which we have data about, where the owner of the data is the selected client.
| |
You can also select any number of individual brands.
If you have limited it to data owned by the client, you will only be offered brands which they own data of.
To add a brand find it in the list of available brands, which is alphabetic, and then either double click it, or click the arrow pointing right.
The right and left arrows will become available when it is appropriate.
The arrow pointing left removes a brand from the selected list.
The double arrow pointing left removes all the selected brands from the selected list.
On the left of the list of available brands you will see an apply filter button and a remove filter button . These allow you to filter the list of available brands.
When you click the apply filter button you will see this form appear. Select a client.
To back out of this form just click
Click the apply filter button , and the list of available brands will be a lot shorter.
You will also see that the double arrow pointing right
will now work.
To see the original brands again just click the remove filter button .
| |
Group
You have 2 choices here, All, and Some, with Some as the default.
If you want more than one group leave the default. Select each group you want to add, and either double click it, or click the arrow pointing right .
It will not cause any problems if you only select one group.
As soon as you have added at least one the arrow pointing left will be available to you to unselect a group.
If you select All, before the data is gathered centrally, all the groups which we have data for the brands selected in the set time period will be found and the data for these groups will be gathered.
| |
Time Period & Destination
You will see that the dates you set on the previous form are automatically selected. If they were omitted before they will be blank.
To change the start or end week date, just select a different one from the drop down lists
The lists contain all historic week dates.
| |
Last of all you need to select where you want the downloaded data to be saved. Your choices are

| |

| |
You will get a message telling you how long the download took and how many records were downloaded.

Data Downloaded Summary
Return to Download Other
This form is purely a display of what you have already downloaded, nothing more.
This data is the basis which the New Merge draws from, so it is useful to check this before you do a New Merge.
This shows the jobs which have been downloaded using the Causal Data Download.
This shows the weekdates by store group and brand which have been downloaded using the EPOS Extract Download.

New Merge of Causal(Job) & EPOS Data
Return to Download Other
You need to select the questions from the jobs which have already been downloaded.
Questions which are not associated with a product are usually superfluous in a new merge for example.
You might only be interested in one question, which was asked in several jobs.
| |
Select Questions One Row shows you a list of the questions available where all the information about the question is shown on a single row, a wide single row.
NB this form has both a horizontal and a vertical scroll.
| |
Select Questions Multi Row shows you a list of the questions available where all the information about the question is shown on several rows. This allows you to see all the information about a question at a time, but fewer questions.
| |
The buttons on Select Questions One Row and Select Questions Multi Row look the same and do the same things.
These buttons allow you to sort the questions in alternating ascending and descending order.
These allow you to filter the questions on whether they have products or whether they have been selected/choosen.
Once you have finished selecting questions, click and return to Merge
| |
Once you have selected the questions you then need to select the EPOS data, and choose Control Weeks, so click Select EPOS Data and you will get something like this.
You will notice that there are already a number of sets of EPOS data which are already selected. These are a reaction to the questions you have already selected. This is why you should select the questions before you select EPOS.
No Control Weeks are automatically selected though.
It is recommended that you set the first week or 2 as control weeks which are selected for the merge for each Brand and Group combination which is applicable. You may choose to unselect the weeks from the merge which are to act as control weeks.
On the main form for the New Merge you have the option of using the control weeks selected here, or using permanent Control Data. On the right hand of this form it shows whether the brands have this permanent control data.
Once you have finished selecting EPOS Data and setting Control Weeks, or deciding that you can use permanent Control Data, click and return to Merge
| |
If you want the merge to use the control weeks you've just selected in Select EPOS Data, click
If you want the merge to use the permanent control data you've just selected in Select EPOS Data, click
| |
After a length of time you should get a message like this.
The results of this merge can be found in tbl_new_merge in Realize.mdb in C:\Program Files\Realize\
| |
Once you have finished with the New Merge, click and you will return to Download Other
