Profits Check Import Data
| |
Unfortunately when not all the products are validated this form appears.
| |
Problems with matching outlets are dealt with by Storecheck, so the data is copied to the main database, but to a separate place where Storecheck can handle the problems. Then it will be integrated in with the rest, but this may take a day or so.
However you will need to deal with products which initially fail to be validated.
You will only see products & brands which belong to the company which your logon belongs to.
Products are matched on their EAN/ANA/barcodes usually, but other numeric unique identification codes can be used, EG TPNB from Tesco.
As the formats of these codes varies between store groups, the mapping of the product to a code needs to be set up for each store group.
This means that there are 2 circumstances which can cause a product to fail validation
| |
1. The product is new to the system, so there are no mappings of it to any code in any store group
| |
2. The product is in the system but no mapping has been set for the code used in the imported file.
| |
The first time you import any data you are probably going to have a lot of products to add, and a product must belong to a brand. You will need to contact Storecheck in advance to make sure that all the brands you will need have been created for you.
| |
Adding a New Product
Click on the problem product in the upper list and its code, name and the number of records containing it will appear immediately below the list. The area is highlighted by the red rectangle below.
Then you need to click on , or the area highlighted by the red circle in the section below, so it will look like this
rather than the default which looks like this
| |
Next you will need to enter the name of the product.
The name is not automatically copied from the data imported because the abbreviations used by the store groups can be misleading, and sometimes ambiguous.
Also this name will be shown in reports so it is recommended that you format it as you would any proper noun, include the brand name at the beginning, and details of size and or packaging to distinguish similar products, EG 250ml, 4x250ml, 330ml bottle, 330ml can.
In this example I will enter Shloer Elderflower 1 litre bottle, and then I have selected ULV Other as being the Brand.
Next click and you will notice in the list of problem products that it changes to this
You have now successfully created as new product.
| |
Adding a New Code to an Existing Product
Like with adding a new product, click on the problem product in the top list, so it appears immediately below it.
Then make sure the middle section looks like this
When Problem Products opens the listed of available products is blank, looking like this.
If you want to see all the existing products belonging to the company your log on belongs to just click and you will get this
If you want to see the products belonging to a particular brand, select the brand from the list like this
and then click and you will get this
To see all products again just click and then click and you see all the products again
The Count which comes with the products is a count of the number of codes which have been given to the product.
| |
Once you have found the product you want to ad the code to, just click on it in the list of available products and you will see it appear in the middle section like this.
The name of the problem product is highlighted in red, the name of the product this code will be mapped to is highlighted on yellow.
Check you are happy with the mapping and then click and you will notice in the list of problem products that it changes to this
| |
Once you have either created a new product, or added a new code for each of the problem products click , and you should get this message
and you should then finish importing data
If not you need to add more products or codes, which will be shown to you on the Problem Products form.
